As you are all well on your way to completing your entry for the race day at the mall, this might be a good time for you to pause a moment and ensure that your card meets the criteria for racing.

If you have any questions check with your section leaders for help.

Also, on Monday the 22nd, we will be having a 51st all sections pre-race and rally. There will be some bling to decorate your cars, measuring tools to ensure your vehicle is within the rules, and .... stuff.

Look for the rules in the announcements section of our web site.

Skating Party
The beavers and their families had a skating party at the Montgomery Park Rec Unit. We served hot chocolate with marshmallows and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. We had a fun evening with the beavers and their families. The weather was perfect, so warm in fact that many started to skate without jackets.

Thanx to all the parents that helped out with this event, it is much appreciated.

Steak Night a Success
Thank-you to all of the parents that sold tickets to the steak night and to the parents and friends that showed up to support our fundraiser.

I know my food was excellent, and hope everyone else had a good meal too.

We sold about 80 dinner tickets, and had about 70 door prizes, which was tremendous.

After all the dust settled, we managed to raise about $600, which is really awesome.

As you know, someone walked away with $200 from the 50/50 (which was a tad more than 50%, but who's counting).

And from myself, I would like to thank all of the scouters and parents that volunteered their time and talents to make this fundraiser such a great success.

Camp Seeonee Caretaker

If you have booked Seeonee for a camp, and would like to have the caretaker turn the power on for you, call him.

Darrile and Trina Welder @ 933-9337.

You should call 24 to 48 hours before your arrival date/time.

Beaver Linking Camp - 51st and 69th
We had a full house on the weekend. In camp two, all the cabins were full, people were sleeping on the floor and in tents.

We had lots of fun, did some hiking, crafts, had a campfire friday night, and everybody left with a smile on their face.

Click on any photo from the slideshow to browse the pictures from camp.

Our Own Crest
We have been talking about what the crest should look like for the 51st Montgomery group, and a few ideas were tossed around. One that seemed to to garner attention was a red poppy, with black border, and white writing (as pictured here).

What do you think? Do you have some ideas you would like to share, or comments on this crest idea?
